Salmon Arm Garage Sale for Shelter Raises Over $5000!

The final tally is in for our Royal LePage Garage Sale for Shelter held on May 9, 2015 at our office here in Salmon Arm, BC. Between the sale items, the hot dog sales and the silent auction, we raised a total of $5,001.87 for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. The entire donation will come back to the S.A.F.E. Society Women's Shelter here in Salmon Arm. This is an outstanding amount with an increase of 40.2% over our 2014 sale!
The National Garage Sale for Shelter is an annual event held at Royal LePage offices across Canada. The first six years of the event has raised over $2,000,000 nationally and supports hundreds of women's shelters from coast to coast. This is our third year doing this event. It comes as no surprise to see the summer population of the Shuswap towns increasing year after year. And now, more and more vacationers are expanding their summer stays well into fall, or getting a kick start in early spring. After renting and falling in love with the region, a few of those former visitors take the plunge to become Shuswap property owners, and when they do they often consider the investment opportunities. Baby boomers in particular are major investors in the area, with the aging demographic seeking a quiet place to retire, and hot summers certainly don’t hurt!
