The "Garage Sale for Shelter" presented by Royal LePage Access Real Estate is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM PDT at the Royal LePage Access Real Estate office located at #2 - 551 Trans Canada Highway NE, Salmon Arm, BC.

This annual event is a significant fundraiser for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation and the local S.A.F.E. Society (Shuswap Area Family Emergency Society), which supports women's shelters and domestic violence prevention in the Shuswap region.

Here are some important details about the event:

Beneficiaries: 100% of the proceeds from the garage sale will go directly to the S.A.F.E. Society and the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation.

Donations: The community can donate gently used items. BigSteelBox bins will be available in the Royal LePage parking lot starting April 8th for drop-offs. Donations will be accepted Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM until the day of the sale.

Items Accepted (Please note these may be subject to change, so it's always good to confirm with the organizers): Gently used household goods, furniture (smaller, non-upholstered items are usually preferred), toys, books, kitchenware, décor, tools, sporting goods, and working electronics/appliances.

Items NOT Accepted: Mattresses, box springs, golf clubs, skis, old TVs or computers, and large upholstered furniture.

BBQ: There will also be a BBQ during the event, sponsored by the Salmon Arm Lions Club. This is a great way to grab a bite while supporting a worthy cause.

Impact: Since 2012, Royal LePage Access Real Estate has raised over $101,000 through their fundraising efforts, with over $37,000 coming specifically from their annual garage sales.

The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation is the largest public foundation in Canada dedicated exclusively to funding women's shelters and domestic violence prevention. Across Canada, Royal LePage agents and offices actively support this cause through various fundraising events and by donating a portion of their commissions.

If you have any questions about donating items or the event itself, you can contact the Royal LePage Salmon Arm office at 250-832-9997. This is a fantastic opportunity for the residents of Salmon Arm and the surrounding area to declutter their homes and contribute to a vital community service. Your participation as a donor or a shopper will make a real difference in the lives of women and children in need of safety and support.
