Way back in May, we held our Garage Sale for Shelter in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation and had a great day! The sale was conducted in about 100 Royal LePage offices across Canada including our office here in Salmon Arm. A very successful day led to our biggest total to date for our office with $5,001.87 raised.
Shuswap Lake, once a rugged area visited only by regular devotees, has rapidly evolved into a top seasonal getaway destination and is widely viewed as the pinnacle of out-of-city relaxation in style and comfort. Highly desirable, prime real estate is scattered bountifully throughout the region and a Shuswap cabin or cottage has become a hot commodity that signifies that elusive, idyllic and well-rounded British Columbian lifestyle.
Salmon Arm is a city with a rich and interesting past, but apart from a few well-informed locals, most residents and visitors are unaware of the town’s impressive heritage. There are many ways to learn more: The Okanagan Regional Library, the online archives of the Vancouver Public Library… but what better way than to experience history for yourself? At the R.J. Haney Heritage Village and Museum, you can do just that.
The final tally is in for our Royal LePage Garage Sale for Shelter held on May 9, 2015 at our office here in Salmon Arm, BC. Between the sale items, the hot dog sales and the silent auction, we raised a total of $5,001.87 for the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. The entire donation will come back to the S.A.F.E. Society Women's Shelter here in Salmon Arm. This is an outstanding amount with an increase of 40.2% over our 2014 sale!
It comes as no surprise to see the summer population of the Shuswap towns increasing year after year. And now, more and more vacationers are expanding their summer stays well into fall, or getting a kick start in early spring. After renting and falling in love with the region, a few of those former visitors take the plunge to become Shuswap property owners, and when they do they often consider the investment opportunities. Baby boomers in particular are major investors in the area, with the aging demographic seeking a quiet place to retire, and hot summers certainly don’t hurt!
